Robert Sturdy

Last Thursday Robert attended a reception with the Prime Minister in Downing Street alongside Conservative MEP colleagues past and present. The reception was a chance to hold face-to-face discussions on European issues and to exchange an anecdote or two.

Robert was keen to discuss EU trade policy with the Prime Minister and to keep him up to speed with the ongoing negotiations with India and Japan.

 After the reception, Robert commented:

 ‘It is always a pleasure to be invited to Downing Street to meet with the Prime Minister.’

 ‘Receptions like these are a great opportunity to give the PM the Conservative perspective from Brussels and to maintain direct links between Conservatives on both sides of the Channel’
